Common questions

Where are the actions?

In the Shortcuts app. Create or open a shortcut, search for “Bugcutter” in the action list, and every Bugcutter action appears. On Mac, the search field is at the top of the actions sidebar.

The Bugcutter app itself lists every action with a short description, so you can look one up before you go to Shortcuts.

An action says it needs access

A few actions ask for permission the first time they run: Find Free Time reads your calendars, Get Upcoming Birthdays reads your contacts, and actions that reach devices at home, such as Home Assistant, MQTT or SSH, need the local network.

If you said no, turn it back on in Settings › Privacy & Security on iPhone and iPad, or System Settings › Privacy & Security on Mac. Choose Calendars, Contacts or Local Network and switch Bugcutter on.

Does Bugcutter collect data?

No. There is no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and what you save stays on your device. Bugcutter only goes online when you run an action that needs to. The privacy policy lists every service it can talk to.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17.6 or later, and Mac with macOS 14.6 or later. Every action works the same on all three.
